betNOW is committed to endorsing responsible wagering among its customers as well as promoting the awareness of problem gambling and improving prevention, intervention and treatment. betNOW's responsible Gambling Policy sets out its commitment to minimising the negative effects of problem gambling and to promoting responsible gambling practices.

We believe it is our responsibility to you, our customers, to ensure that you enjoy your wagering experience via our mobile service, while remaining fully aware of the social and financial harms associated with problem gambling.

Problem gambling is not uncommon and we try to help those who are vulnerable as much as possible. We are able to do this because we have taken advice from GamCare and trained our staff accordingly as well as having links to the charitable organization that provides help and counselling to those with gambling problems.

In order to assist our customers in betting responsibly we have provided the following features with our service.

• Monthly spending limits: An account may be funded, during a month, by no more than £1000 by a mobile phone bill and £1000 by credit/debit cards.
• Customer driven loss limits: The limits described above can be reduced by the customer. These can bet set on the player protection page within the user profile tab.
• Self-exclusion tools: The customer can also exclude themselves from using the service entirely for six months from the same player protection page or by sending a text saying 'EXCLUDE' to 89000.
• Links to GamCare and other help organisations: The home page contains direct links to GamCare's home page, plus other bodies regulating text betting.
• Self help and awareness information
• Information and tools to protect underage access.

Maintaining control

Whilst the majority of our customers gamble within their means for some it can be more difficult. In order to maintain control of your gambling habits we would like you to bear in mind the following points:

• Gambling should be done in moderation and undertaken as a form of leisure not as a genuine way of making money
• Avoid chasing losses
• Only gamble when you can cover the losses
• Keep track of the time and monitor the amount of money you spend
• If you need help, use the time and spend limits on the customer protection page to control the amount you can spend
• Should you need a break from gambling then use your exclusion options on the customer protection page (and you should consider doing the same on any other services you may be using)

Underage gambling

It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to bet with the betNOW service. betNOW takes its responsibilities in this regard very seriously. The betNOW shortcode is in the adult short code range 89xxx on all the mobile networks. We carry out electronic age verification checks when a customer joins the services and before payment of winnings or draw down of funds to the betNOW account. Furthermore, we work with a credit check agency to individually age check customers. Mobile phone users should be aware it is their responsibility how and by whom their mobile phone is used. Parents should pay particular attention to ensure their children do not use any adult bill payer's phone to access adult services of any kind.
