Using your phone
In just two text messages you can place a bet from your phone bill: Send your event or team name to 89000 and you will receive our free bet offer text. Simply select a bet by replying with one of A, B or C (sometimes up to 'K'), no other words or characters, just the one letter. Pre-pay phones need at least £3 plus enough credit to cover the costs of sending us texts at your standard network rate. We recommend you lock your phone with a secret pin number for security.
Remember to ALWAYS ensure you've got the bet confirmation text for each bet, as this is your 'betting slip', without which your bet has not been placed. If in doubt, visit betNOW.co.uk where full details of all your confirmed bets are available or contact Customer Services.
You can also bet on-line from you betNOW Account (payment card deposits or winnings), but not from your Phone Bill.
See Advanced Features below for more ways to bet.
The stake money
Before you register at betNOW the stake for each £3 text (default amount) bet comes from your phone bill or pre-pay account and is charged via a Premium SMS. Once you register with betNOW, open a betNOW account and deposit funds from your Credit or Debit Card, you can vary the amount you bet (between £3 and £150) and you can bet on-line.
Spending limits apply to how much you can spend from your phone bill or payment cards in a certain period of time. There is no limit on betting from your winnings:
From your phone bill or pre-pay account (text bets only):
- £30 per day (except Vodafone)
From your betNOW account (Credit, Debit Card or Vodafone customers):
- £500 per day
- £1,000 per month
The bet and the event
betNOW offer bets on most popular events (e.g. football matches) and betting markets (e.g. winner, exact score, first scorer). You can bet on some events during the game – this is called 'In-Play'. As the odds will be varying, dependent upon what's happening in the game, so the total return betNOW can offer will also vary. If the odds change significantly between the time when we sent you a text and your reply, then we may be unable to accept that bet. Instead we will ask you to 'refresh' the odds. Sometimes betting markets are suspended, for example in soccer for a minute or two straight after a goal has been scored. When this happens betNOW willl be unable to accept a bet immediately and will return a message accordingly. When you bet on the soccer correct score, then this is the score at the end of 90 minutes plus stoppage time. If a goal is scored during 'Extra Time' then this will not go towards the outcome of the bet. Please refer to betting rules for full details.
In some cases the bet you request may be such short odds that it is not economic for us to offer you an option. In these cases we 'close' that option and offer you the next most interesting market (e.g. Man Utd to win with the exact score of 1-0 rather than Man Utd to win).
Decimal Odds
Most on-line bookies use the traditional fractional format when expressing betting odds e.g. 1/2, 11/8 etc.
We use the simpler decimal format e.g. 1.5, 2.38.
Working out your total return is just a matter of using the appropriate method.
Traditional: Left hand figure, divided by the right hand figure and then multiplied by the stake so for a £5 stake: 1/2 X £5 = £2.50 winnings, you will also get back your stake of £5 making a total return of £7.50.
Decimal: Simply multiply the stake by the odds: 1.5 X £5 = £7.50

Advanced texting features
You can place variable or multiple bets from as single text bet offer.
- To place a variable bet (a bet greater than the default £3), simply add the amount to your text. For example texting £5 on MAN UTD will return a bet offer based on a £5 bet, simply reply with your chosen option to bet £5 instantly. You can also vary the amount you want to bet when selecting your option. For example, replying A 5 will place a £5 bet on option A from the latest bet offer you've received. The returns multiply up accordingly.
- To place multiple bets from the same bet offer, simply reply with all the options and amounts you require, for example replying A B5 C10 will place £3 on option A, a £5 bet on option B and a £10 on option C from the latest bet offer you've received.
- Note that the stake on which the returns are based in the bet offer and the bet placed may be reduced from that selected based on available credit.
You will get a bet confirmation for each bet placed whether placed from a single reply text or multiple. ALWAYS ensure you've got the bet confirmation text for each bet, as this is your betting slip, without which your bet has not been placed.
